Her Private Life: Ep 2

Intro:

Welcome to episode 2! We are starting back where DukMi is fixing a lightbulb on a ladder and falls off when she notices Ryan. OMG, I realized why I know the actor who plays Ryan Gold. It’s Kim Jae-Wook from Coffee Prince! He played the foreigner from Japan who was very quiet and loved a woman who had a child…very taboo in Kdramas…

Flashback:

We get a quick flashback on DukMi entering the professional world and realizing when she needs to act like she’s not a fangirl. She’s at a job interview with Director Eom, and there’s another candidate. Director Eom is clearly not fond of her and prefers the other candidate whose dad is a chairman of some group…typical. During this interview, Director Eom calls her daughter to ask why she just spent millions of wons when she is supposed to be at school. It turns out that Director Eom’s daughter is a fangirl. The other candidate says something along the lines that insinuates she is a fangirl as well. Director Eom looks disgusted! DukMi catches this and says she doesn’t have any clue what they are talking about. Director Eom tells her to start work tomorrow. Flashback ends.

Back at the museum, Ryan asks DukMi where the director’s office is. By the way, Ryan knows DukMi from the art auction, not the airport debacle. He is curious to know who her client is that wanted to Lee Sol's painting. DukMi says she cannot give the information because it’s confidential. Ryan guesses that her client is Cha Si-An from White Ocean. DukMi pretends that she’s not familiar with idols and doesn’t like them.

The museum is called Cheum, but I will probably just refer to it as the museum. The museum workers are in a short introductory meeting. While pulling out a binder, DukMi notices Ryan has her SiAn notebook schedule she dropped at the airport. Ryan is giving the workers an earful saying how he didn’t know if Cheum was an art museum or a place to show off one’s connections…ouch. Ryan says he won’t ask much from them but forget their previous director’s connections and gain a conscience to put on proper exhibitions. Ryan leaves the meeting, and DukMi follows him to his office. Duk-Mi expresses that his harsh words upset her as they just did the best they could with the former director’s power. Ryan asks DukMi if she’s the type to succumb to power. He goes on to say he likes people like that, with no thoughts of their own, and that just follows orders…jeez. He encourages Duk-Mi to keep it up.

10 minutes in:

At the cafe, DukMi is complaining to SeonJu, who says that all this could be happening because they are meant to be. SeonJu tells DukMi that she should be grateful that Ryan didn’t notice her at the airport. Ryan passes by the cafe and sees the two girls sitting there hugging. In case you forgot, Ryan thinks that they are gay. EunGi walks into the cafe carrying SeonJu’s son, complaining that he’s not his babysitter. 

Back at the museum, the workers, KyungA and YooSeob, are looking at a video of Ryan painting. KyungA says he is artistic and handsome but unfortunately has a bad temper. 

KyungA and DukMi are waiting for a meeting to start in Ryan's office. While unpacking his bag, he pulls out a blue notebook…DukMi’s fangirl notebook. DukMi notices but tries to remain calm. They are reviewing upcoming art exhibitions, and Ryan suggests canceling the exhibition and coming up with something fresher. DukMi expresses her frustration, and Ryan dismisses KyungA so they can chat… Ryan tells DukMi she’s not in a position to make decisions and set up a meeting for him and Mr. Ahn, the person whose artwork is being canceled.

DukMi visits Mr. Ahn to schedule a meeting for him and Ryan. DukMi tells Mr. Ahn that his exhibition is being canceled. Mr. Ahn tells DukMi not to tell Ryan that he knows and he will come up with a personal excuse to cancel his exhibition when he meets Ryan.

25 minutes in:

The next day DukMi goes to Ryan’s office and searches for her blue notebook when Ryan walks in. She plays it off and runs away. YooSeob then delivers Ryan “content-certified mail.” Ryan seems upset. Ryan heads down to DukMi, who is in the storage room. Ryan tells her that only museum employees can be in the storage room, so she needs to get out. Ryan hands her the mail. It’s from Mr. Ahn, who is suing for breach of contract. DukMi tells him that it was her responsibility to tell Mr. Ahn and that the result would’ve been the same. Ryan tells her that’s not true because he would offer him a solo exhibition in New York. Ryan rips the badge off her and tells her to leave. He tells the other workers that if they think he is unfair, they can go too.

YooSeob, KyungA, and Ryan are in the museum conference room the next day. DukMi is at home making herself breakfast and seems very happy watching videos of SiAn. She tells herself that she has SiAn, so she has no time to be depressed. Her mom then texts her to come home.

When DukMi gets to the house, EunGi pulls her into the room and tells her that he texted her. The parents are fighting, so they play rock, paper, scissors to decide who will take whose side. DukMi has to take her dad’s side, and EunGi has to take mom’s side. The parents are arguing because the dad wants his mom to move in because she is ill. The mom starts yelling and talking about how she is the only one who lives a tough life. This upset DukMi, who starts crying, saying that her mother has no idea how people treat her in life. She gives both of her parents' money then leaves. SeonJu comes to pick her up, and they go drinking and karaoking. While drinking, DukMi tells them she got fired and starts to cry. They go to a restaurant, and SeonJu tries to cut DukMi off drinking. EunGi says it must be DukMi’s unlucky her, according to her zodiac. SeonJu reminds him that they were all born in the same year, lol. SeonJu ignores a phone call from her husband. He texts her and says he has to go to work. Before leaving, SeonJu tells DukMi to come work at the cafe instead of being at home pathetic. She tells her that the cafe has a cute new regular that would make her happy.

40 minutes in:

The following day at the cafe, Ryan is just standing there in front of DukMi. Of course, he’s the cute new regular. Ryan orders a latte without the espresso shot, and DukMi gets upset and starts yelling about how that’s not how you treat lattes….which is true, though. 

YooSeob and KyungA visit the cafe to ask DukMi how to handle a situation at the museum. DukMi leaves the cafe and runs off with them to handle the situation. After helping, she leaves. KyungA goes to Ryan’s office and asks him to rehire DukMi. KyungA says DukMi did nothing wrong. KyungA went to the museum’s old director, Director Eom, and told her that Mr. Ahn’s exhibition was going to be canceled. 

Ryan goes back to the cafe to see DukMi. He tells her that he overreacted and apologizes. DukMi accepts his apology but says she won't go back to work. Ryan says the cafe suits her and orders an iced mint chocolate drink. While making it, DukMi sees an espresso shot and pours it in his drink. 

Ryan heads back to the office stressed and considers leaving Korea while drinking his drink. DukMi is laughing with EunGi about how she got her revenge on Ryan. Mr. Ahn calls DukMi and tells her he wants to talk to Ryan. Ryan is back at the office laid out on the floor, and he immediately knows it’s DukMi’s fault. DukMi heads to the office and finds Ryan on the floor, passed out. EunGi comes in after her and helps carry Ryan to the hospital. Ryan has a caffeine allergy. EunGi tells DukMi that he knew she would kill someone one day.

While in the hospital bed, Ryan has a bad dream of a little boy being left somewhere and is sitting on a front step crying. DukMi has a bad dream where she is being arrested for the attempted murder of Ryan. When they both wake up, they discuss rescheduling the meeting with Mr. Ahn. DukMi decides to work for the museum again. Ryan tells her that he would like her to go with him to an appointment to meet a collector. The collector is Cha Sian of White Ocean…

Back at his home, Ryan goes into a back room and looks at 2 paintings done by Lee Sol. The painting that caused his Stendhal Syndrome. 

Prediction: DukMi will embarrass herself in front of SiAn because she just has that sort of personality. Something is odd with SeonJu’s husband.
