Hometown ChaChaCha: Ep 8

Intro:

Back where we left off, DuSik tells Seonghyeon that HyeJin is not seeing anyone. DuSik then becomes irritable and leaves when the tv crew pops up.

The neighbors are at the cafe, gossiping and drinking. The ladies mentioned that they've had some items go missing from their clothing lines. The nosey neighbor starts mentioning a love triangle between Hyejin and the boys.

The kids are all at HyeJin's house on a Sunday morning. The kids are Juri, Ijun, and Bora. Juri is there because HyeJin's tv is big, so she can watch the boyband clearer. Ijun and Bora are there to see the hedgehog. MiSeon comes home and jokes that HyeJin is starting a kid's cafe.

Down at the beach, DuSik is teaching Seonghyeon how to surf. DuSik keeps pushing him, and the tv network team jokes that it seems like DuSik is hazing Seonghyeon as if he has a grudge. While in the ocean, the boys have plenty of wipeouts.

Mr. Rawfish is walking with a brace now and passes Ms. Rawfish. They go to a gazebo to talk per Mr. Rawfish's request. He mentions his feelings for the teacher. She tells him not to choose that woman and to pick someone else. He starts yelling, asking what he has done to her for her to keep ruining his life. He mentions they got married cause she wanted and divorced cause she wanted. As he is yelling, she walks off, and he falls off the bench from yelling and hurting his back…. I'm starting not to like Ms. Rawfish… what's her deal?

Post surf lessons, Seonghyeon is hungry. DuSik tells him to go by himself and starts walking away. HyeJin and MiSeon are walking to dinner. DuSik sees them and returns to the group. Apparently, HyeJin and Seonghyeon were craving the same thing. MiSeon, in awesome wing woman fashion, says that she is actually starting a diet, so they should go by themselves. HyeJin and Seonghyeon say it'll just be them 2, but DuSik interjects and says that he will be joining them. He says he knows a good place.

At the restaurant, the boys are seated, and Hyejin walks in. Seonghyeon pulls the chair out next to him for her to sit, but she automatically sits next DuSik. DuSik notices this and smirks. Seonghyeon looks confused. The waitress brings over two menus, probably because it was just the two guys, and DuSik says that Seonghyeon can have a menu to himself, and he and HyeJin will share. Seonghyeon looks a bit annoyed. For some reason, they decide to order 3 plates of dumplings. When HyeJin asks if it's too much, Dusik dissingly says Seonghyeon will eat all of it. HyeJin gives him more of her dumplings and says that watching him eat happily makes her happy. They both laugh while DuSik watches. During one dumpling exchange, DuSik interjects and grabs the dumpling.

The teacher visits Ms.Rawfish to give her a present. Ms. Rawfish shuts her down and says they can't be friends as she has no time to play with her anymore. She gets extremely formal and tells her that she shouldn't come around unannounced as parents don't like it when their kid's teacher does that.

Back at the restaurant, to the trio is talking about the past. HyeJin mentions that she was very busy during college, working part-time jobs to earn her tuition….sounds a bit like DuSik. DuSik asks how they met. The 2 met in class because Seonghyeon went up to her because they were in a group project together. HyeJin says she has to work, so she gave him her number so he can update her on what she needed to do for the project. In real-time, we see DuSik filling up their water and spilling Seonghyeon's water on him. Seonghyeon looks irritated, and DuSik makes it a point to say he didn't do it on purpose.

25min in:

DuSik sees the pregnant storefront owner struggling with boxes. He offers to help, and at that time, we see Seonghyeon is already in the middle of helping her. She tells DuSik that he can leave as Seonghyeon is taking care of it. DuSik walks off, confused. He goes to see the grandmas, and they are enjoying a treat from Seonghyeon. Grandma Gamri is moving out of the house for a month to let the network team be there comfortably.

HyeJin runs into DuSik, who is working as a cashier at the convenience store. She is wearing a neck brace to help with her neck problems. While she is taking it off, DuSik watches her in adornment. HyeJin tells him to hurry up, ringing her snacks, and he snaps out of it. They then have a brief conversation that HyeJin has neck problems from bending over and looking into people's mouths all day.

After getting drunk alone, the teacher is walking home by herself when a man approaches her and starts walking with her. Ms. Rawfish sees this and goes after the guy and scares him off. The guy runs off, and the teacher collapses. The guy goes back to his home and is clearly angry that his kidnap plan failed. His home was filled with the items that the ladies reported stolen from their clothing lines.

The town is unsettled after hearing about the possible abduction. While MiSeon and HyeJin are walking, MiSeon tells HyeJin that she shouldn't ignore Seonghyeon's obvious signs that he likes her. HyeJin says that he is just nice. Seonghyeon pops up, and MiSeon leaves. Seonghyeon gives HyeJin some self-defense equipment and a llama doll. The llama is supposed to signify good luck.

Officer Choi and DuSik are patrolling the area together when it starts to rain. They decide to split up to cover more area. DuSik comes across a light that hasn't been fixed yet. He then goes to see if HyeJin is home. As he is leaving a present, he sees HyeJin and Seonghyeon walking together under an umbrella. He says hello and gives her the present, which is some type of medicine to help her with her neck pain. He then rushes off.

At home, HyeJin puts the northern ginseng in a tea. She calls DuSik to thank him, but he doesn't hear him as he has a cold now from walking home in the rain and is coughing.

50min in:

DuSik is trying to help the tv network team set up for the shots, but he keeps coughing. They tell him he should take it easy.

Nosey neighbor is doing a sketchy money exchange when HyeJin interrupts as the guy is a scammer. He grabs the money and runs off, and HyeJin starts chasing him. The boys see her, and they take off after the thief. DuSik catches him and asks Seonghyeon to pick up all the money. They bring the guy back, and the police are there waiting to arrest him. The Nosey neighbor is sitting crying and starts attacking the guy. When everyone goes to the police station, HyeJin notices DuSik is hurt and that he doesn't look well. He says he'll be fine and heads home.

HyeJin goes to visit DuSik at home, who has a fever. She brings her first aid kit and starts to fix him up. She then offers to order him dinner. Once she sees that nothing can be ordered, she starts to cook. He tells her to leave, and she says people aren't supposed to be sick alone. DuSik lies ill on the couch while HyeJin cooks. After she is done, he falls asleep on the couch. She writes him a note before leaving. She then pauses and walks over to him, gets ready to kiss him but then snaps out of it and leaves. DuSik wakes up to the food and sits down to eat. He starts laughing and smiling while eating it and jokes about how bad it tastes. Of course, he finishes the majority of it. He walks into the kitchen and sees the mess she made. Before he washes out his bowl, he eats the last couple of scoops. The next day, DuSik sees a bag of tangerines that HyeJin left him.

HyeJin is walking to get coffee when Ms. Rawfish stops her and asks her to grab coffee at her restaurant. She thanks HyeJin for helping her nosey neighbor. HyeJin asks why they let her go so far with her antics and gossip. Ms. Rawfish tells her that the nosey neighbor had a daughter that was about the same age as Juri. We see a nosey neighbor with her daughter, who is very sick. The nosey neighbor was a good, loving mama making sure her daughter was comfortable and happy while sick in the hospital. After her daughter died, a nosey neighbor walked around like a zombie. She didn't interact with people or speak. Ms. Rawfish said after a year, she started doing better. She says from their perspective, her being a pain in the butt is better than when she was withering away.

While HyeJin is walking down the street, she sees a nosey neighbor who tells her to come by the dental clinic to check the work the other dental tech did.

Later that night, the town members are watching the idols film the tv show. DuSik notices that HyeJin is not there. HyeJin is still at the dental clinic late at night before she leaves. As she is walking home by herself, that streetlight is officially broken, so she starts walking in the dark. She hears footsteps, and she starts running. DuSik then appears with a flashlight. HyeJin runs up to him, scared, and hugs him. He hugs her back tightly.

We see a flashback when HyeJin was about to kiss a sleeping DuSik, but we then see he was actually awake. He opens his eyes and deeply exhales.
