Hometown ChaChaCha: Ep 7

Intro:

So we are starting back where episode 6 ended. DuSik is about to fall off the side of the bay when he is saved by HyeJin and the club guy. The club guy looks at HyeJin and says he has been looking for her. The club guy's name is SeongHyeon. A woman approaches Seongheyon, hits him, and says she has been looking for him. The woman says hello to DuSik, but he asks who she is. She takes off her glasses, and he realizes it's the lady he's been showing around time for the past 2 days. Her name is Jiwon. HyeJin is amused by this.

So Seonghyeon is in Gongjin to start a new tv show. He's a television food star. Jiwon is the show writer. We learn that Seonghyeon and HyeJin met in college. At a small neighborhood dinner, Seonghyeon and HyeJin establish they haven't seen each other in about 10 years. DuSik and Seonghyeon are very friendly. HyeJin tells Seonghyeon she opened a dental clinic. The nosey neighbor sees the three of them talking and decides to interrupt are start stirring up nonsense again. She asks if Seonghyeon and HyeJin have a more than friendly history. DuSik plays it cool during this scene while HyeJin and Seonghyeon try to correct their nosey neighbor. HyeJin gets up to leave, and Seonghyeon offers to walk her home. DuSik leaves right after saying he'll be back. The 3 of them are walking and joking about how Seonghyeon often gets lost. DuSik suggests they drop HyeJin off, and the guys drink together. HyeJin doesn't like this idea and suggests they all drink together at DuSik's house.

While Seonghyeon is in the bathroom, HyeJin asks DuSik why he wants to hang out with Seonghyeon. DuSik says that HyeJin is too self-conscious. HyeJin asks that he not mention what happened the other night..ya know..the kiss. Seonghyeon comes out of the bathroom, sees HyeJin and DuSik having playful physical banter, and is intrigued.

MiSeon runs into Officer Choi and asks why he is so busy if he is off duty. He is shaking and asks if she is waiting on him. She changes the subject and suggests they grab something to eat together. He says that he doesn't eat after 6pm. While she suggests they take a walk instead, Officer Choi walks off towards a street pole with a poster taped to it. He goes on about how it's illegal and starts to take it down. MiSeon sprays it with some spray from her purse, suggesting that the poster will probably come off easier if wet. Choi asks if it's expensive, and she says it's not. He then asks her to spray more of it all over the poster. MiSeon is clearly in distress while she is doing this. He asked her how much it cost, and she said 67,000 won (USD 50). He grabs her hand to make her stop spraying and asks what she was thinking.

Back at DuSik's house, the trio sits to eat and drink. Seong Hyeon and Dusik learn that they are both 34 years old and decide to be friends. Seonghyeon offers to pour Hyejin her drink, and DuSik just watches. Seonghyeon makes comments, reminiscing that HyeJin is still the same. DuSik responds by saying 'oh, she's always been like this?". Seonghyeon says it's much like HyeJin to open a clinic in the countryside instead of becoming a big shot. DuSik starts laughing. HyeJin kicks him to get him to stop. They go on to have several odd moments of Seonghyeon and Hyejin bonding and DuSik opposing it. Like the 2 will talk about wine they like, and DuSik will say that type of wine is not good. Then they talk about tteokbokki, and DuSik says tteokbokki isn't good. They just ignore him, though. Seonghyeon asks HyeJin if she still reads comic books. She says she reads more webtoons but misses paperbacks.

A couple of drinks later, Seonghyeon asks DuSik to be his network team's guide. They decide to have a challenge for DuSik's acceptance. They have to guess between two glasses which drink is normal coffee. One of them has something in it. They give the glasses to HyeJin to shuffle. Seonghyeon gets the coffee with the lance sauce. They keep playing games and getting drunker. DuSik decides to be the team's guide. Everyone starts falling asleep in their own corners. HyeJin gets up to leave but first goes to find DuSik outside sleeping and brings him in. She lays back down, and all 3 of them fall asleep on the floor.

It's another morning, and HyeJin is seen leaving DuSik's place. Seonghyeon goes after her and asks for her number. He makes a comment that her number hasn't changed because, for some reason, he remembered it. As she's walking away, Dusik comes out looking for her and then asks Seonghyeon if he wants ramen. The nosey neighbor is just watching this all godown.

25min in:

DuSik shows the television crew around the harbor. The crew is wandering around, trying to find a place to film. They want to film at Grandma Gamri's house, but she says no. They decide to have lunch at the raw fish restaurant. While they are eating, MiSeon and HyeJin stop by during their lunch break. Everyone greets Seonghyeon, and DuSik asks if he's invisible. DuSik watches their interaction amusingly. He then mocks the way Hyejin says bye to Seonghyeon and asks if she is trying to be cute.

The network team goes wandering around shopping. Seonghyeon likes to buy a lot of food, and DuSik is amazed by this and tries to slow him down. Seonghyeon goes to Gamri to give her some of the snacks. He says it's not a bribe but a way to thank her for the previous meal. From then on, Seonghyeon keeps stopping by Gamri's home to help her with chores and give her gifts. She slowly starts warming up to him. One morning he is not there, and she goes looking for him. I guess she got used to his company. She makes a comment that he gave up too easily.

Gamri calls her granddaughter, who is in America. She says she was just calling to hear her voice because she missed her. She asked if she was coming back to Korea for vacation. Granddaughter says she is going to California with friends. Gamri misses having people to take care of.

The next day at the dental office, Hyejin finds a wallet on the floor. MiSeon is at the convenience store and asks about the 3rd mystery in town. In Gongjin, someone won the lottery. They believe it was a Gongjin resident because there was a flood that came through that week, so nobody came in or out of town. They also have yet to come forward saying they won. MiSeon decides to buy 2 tickets. On the way back to the dental office, she runs into Officer Choi and hands him a ticket. Officer Choi declines. MiSeon tells him it's not a bribe or anything and places it in his hand, and walks away.

HyeJin arrives at Gamri's house to return her wallet. DuSik is there washing her blankets. As she is walking away, DuSik grabs her and yells to Grandma that HyeJin wants to help. DuSik tells her to change clothes. HyeJin changes into some grandma clothes and hops into the cleaning bucket with DuSik. While stomping the dirt out of the clothes, HyeJin remembers something from their drunk night, but she's not quite sure what it is. They start playing around and laughing while cleaning. It's super cute.

Side story update: The teacher and Mr and Mrs. rawfish are supposed to go out for lunch together. While Mr. rawfish is showering, he slips and falls, and the ladies keep calling his phone while waiting for him at the restaurant. Mr. Rawfish is crawling out of the bathroom as he can't stand up.

At the end of the day, Grandma Gamri gives Dusik and HyeJin a snack. Seonghyeon shows up to bring her a cake, and she asks if he wants to stay for dinner. He asks if a friend could join them for dinner too. The friend is June, the idol of the boyband. HyeJin is fangirling, and Juri happens to text her at that time. HyeJin texts her to confirm the band will be in town.

Grandma Gamri feeds June a bunch of food, as he said he hasn't had a home-cooked meal in a long time. Juri shows up at the dinner, and June remembers her name and age. She immediately starts hiccuping and fangirling.

The ladies find Mr. Rawfish on the floor with a sprained back. They work together to help him to bed. While the ladies are leaving, the teacher makes a comment that their son, IJun, favors Mrs. Rawfish. Mrs. rawfish thinks she is talking about looks. The teacher says his personality favors her as he is kind and thoughtful and always there to help his friends out, just as Ms. Rawfish used to help a teacher out. The teacher says that those days were the happiest moments. She asks if it can go back to the way it used to be.

Everyone is finishing up dinner back at Gamri's house. DuSik asks Juri to stop freaking him out by being so polite. She's extra kind in front of June. Seonghyeon offers to do the dishes, and Hyejin offers to help, but he tells her no because of her back problems. DuSik asks what happened. Seonghyeon mentions she got a herniated disc from a car accident in high school. HyeJin is surprised that he remembers.

In the kitchen, Seonghyeon is doing dishes while talking to Gamri. He thanks her for a special meal. She is very appreciative of this conversation.

The following day, Dusik is going around delivering milk to the neighbors. He sits down with Gamri, and they drink milk. During that time, she tells DuSik that Seonghyeon can use the house. She said it'll make the place feel less lonely. DuSik said he would let them know.

HyeJin wakes up to a text from Seonghyeon to open her front door. There is a basket left on the front porch. She calls him, and he says since they're both so busy, the basket of treats will have to do. He then goes on to say he is relieved that she is more relaxed in life as she used to be so stressed and busy.

MiSeon runs into Officer Choi, and he runs off to get her a rotisserie chicken. She asked why, and he said it was because he won money from the lottery ticket she gave him. He then runs off. She makes a comment that he spent more than he won…super cute!

DuSik and Seonghyeon are walking around Grandma's house and writing down the rules for the contract. Seonghyeon asks him if he knows if HyeJin is dating anyone. DuSik says he doesn't think so. DuSik's demeanor changes…a bit upset…sad…lowkey heartbroken.

We get a flashback to the night the 3 of them were at DuSik's house drinking. HyeJin goes outside, and DuSik is sitting there on the bench, falling asleep. HyeJin tries to wake him up, but he's out of it. He finally opens his eyes, so she puts his arms around her to lift him up. He falls on her shoulder, starts crying, and asks her not to leave him behind. She says she won't and hugs him.
