Hometown ChaChaCha: Ep 6
Intro:
HyeJin leaves DuSik after he says nothing happened that night. She seems disappointed by his answer. She sits in the dark at home, sulking, when MiSeon comes in to check on her. Trying not to cry, she tells MiSeon. HyeJin says that she can tell that he knows but is playing dumb. HyeJin snaps out of it and says she's getting too comfortable in Gongjin. She promises herself she's not going to overstep with DuSik again.
The next day HyeJin removes the shoes he saved for her out of her line of sight. MiSeon requested an iced latte. HyeJin goes to the cafe, and of course, DuSik is there. He knows their order, but HyeJin says she wants something else. DuSik is energetic and asks if she's okay because she worries about getting a cold. HyeJin asks him not to worry about her anymore as it's annoying and uncomfortable. He tells her it hurts his feelings when Juri and Yoon storm in, yelling. Juri's grades are slipping. HyeJin asks for their usual order but asks Yoon to make it. DuSik seems hurt by this and leaves. While outside, he comments, "So she does remember."
At the dentist, HyeJin treats Ms. Yeo, who seems to have painful molars from clenching her teeth. Her next patient is a walk-in, DuSik. He mocks her, but she says that they should stay professional. While she is about to start his check, she stares at his lips before throwing a cover over his face. He takes it off, saying he doesn't like his face covered. She checks him and asks if anything is bothering him. He says yes, the things between them. He asks if it's because of the kiss. She immediately starts choking. He starts saying he didn't want to say anything because he knew it would get awkward. He says these things are not a big problem in other countries. DuSik then goes on to say that if they can get past their opposite-sex biological crisis, they have a chance to become true friends. MiSeon comes in, and Hyejin asks her to finish.
While MiSeon and HyeJin are having lunch, HyeJin tells her he suggests they be friends. MiSeon receives a message in the group chat: a picture of DuSik with another girl walking down the street. The whole town is messaging, tracking their whereabouts, and HyeJin seems displeased.
DuSik arrives at Gamri's house and is greeted by a club guy getting a beating by Gamri. The fight stops, and Gamri cooks themes a meal. DuSik and the club guy joke around cutely. Seems like a nice bromance. DuSik refers to him as a pure soul. DuSik gives him directions, but again, the guy gets lost. DuSik decides not to help him and walks away.
HyeJin is walking home when she runs into Juri waiting at her house. Yoon is looking for Juri at his cafe and mentions all the money is gone. DuSik calls some people in the neighborhood to see if they have seen Juri. Juri is at HyeJin's house eating chicken. HyeJin notices that Juri stole a safe and asks if she ran away. DuSik arrives, and Juri runs from him. Juri runs into a room and locks herself in. HyeJin says Juri is spending the night. HyeJin calls Yoon and tells him that Juri is staying at her house. MiSeon comes home and is thrown off by seeing Juri. HyeJin lets Juri sleep in her bed while she stays up working. Juri walks in, unable to sleep. Juri and HyeJin bonded over losing their mother and being raised by their dad. Hyejin tells Juri about a time she ran away because she was upset with her dad. Juri says she would be happy if her dad dated, so he wouldn't be lonely.

The next day HyeJin brings Juri to the cafe to apologize to her dad. She asks for braces again and storms off when he says no. HyeJin offers Yoon advice on letting Juri have her alone time and telling him he has to realize that she is growing up. She says that Juri is a talented artist, and Yoon didn't know his daughter drew. As she is leaving, she sees DuSik with that woman again. HyeJin heads to the supermarket and buys all the sausages. The club guy heads to the store afterward to buy sausages, but they are all gone. The club guy goes around snapping pictures.
Everyone is in attendance at the next neighborhood meeting: the new teacher, HyeJin and MiSeon, the cute officer, grandmas, and DuSik. Everyone. They discuss an upcoming talent show. Someone mentions that DuSik and HyeJin should do a duet for the talent show. The blabbermouth neighbor goes on about how far away they are sitting and how their relationship must've run its course. HyeJin snaps at her and tells her to stop spreading false rumors. HyeJin then leaves with DuSik following behind her.
Outside DuSik tries being nice, but HyeJin shuts him down and tells him they aren't friends and that he shouldn't cross the line. He hands her the umbrella and storms off.
The neighborhood is setting up for the song festival. DuSik and HyeJin are completely ignoring each other. HyeJin is wondering why cameras are everywhere to record the small-town song festival. Yoon starts off the show with a song.
DuSik sees Juri backstage, and while she is walking away, he notices her walking funny on her tiptoes. All the performances are entertaining. DuSik runs to get HyeJin from the audience and asks her to accompany him. She hesitantly follows him to Juri, who sprained her ankle. HyeJin says she is not qualified and suggests she go to the hospital. Juri says she wants to dance so she can get the braces. HyeJin asks why she wants braces so bad. Juri tells them that there is a boy she likes, but she can't smile in front of him because her snaggletooth shows, so she wants to get braces before he falls for another girl. Juri's name is called to the stage. Juri limps onto the stage limping. She is clearly in pain during her performance. Her dad tells her to get off stage, but then DuSik and HyeJin come onto the stage, give her a chair, and act as her backup dancers. Her dad runs around to hype up the crowd. It's a very heartwarming scene and comical. They get a standing ovation. The club guy seems to notice her.

At the end of the competition, Juri, who placed second, gets her prize taken away by HyeJin. Hyejin tells her that this will be her first installment for the braces. Everyone smiles at HyeJin for taking care of little Juri.
The last event is a performance by Juri's favorite kpop band, DOS. Juri simply stops speaking, and Hyejin is fangirling as well.
At the end of the festival, DuSik sits next to HyeJin and says she was being nosy. He tells her not to draw imaginary lines and that they should cross the line comfortably.
Juri is chasing down the boyband to their van but falls cause of her sprained ankle. Her dad shows up to give her a piggyback ride, and they catch up. Her favorite singer, June, says he has seen her before. He mentions her tooth and how he remembers her from the cafe, and how she called him a fake. She said since she's cute, he'll let it slide. He says see you around, and she is speechless, and her dad is confused about why he said see you around. Later, she decides she no longer wants braces since that's how June recognized her.
HyeJin watches Yoon and Juri's interaction and reminisces on her relationship with her dad. Flashback: the day she ran away, she took the bus back home, and her dad was waiting on her. He walked up to her, gave her his jacket, and said, " let's go home.
HyeJin calls her dad and tells him the plant is blooming. He is excited for her and tells her to call whenever.
As HyeJin and DuSik are watching the fireworks, someone bumps into DuSik, and he almost falls into the water when HyeJin grabs him, and so does the club guy. HyeJin looks shocked and calls out his name, and he responds that he has been looking everywhere for her. DuSik does not like the look of this.
