Hometown ChaChaCha: Ep 5

Intro:

It's the following day, and HyeJin is waking up next to DuSik. She grabs her purse, leaves her umbrella, and sneaks out. Well, she is seen by one neighbor who loves to gossip, and she immediately texts everyone. By the time HyeJin gets home, MiSeon is already teasing her.

DuSik wakes up with a headache and notices that HyeJin is gone and has left her umbrella.

HyeJin is having flashbacks of her and DuSik running around town together drunk. She mentions to him that he has done pole dancing. HyeJin is highly energetic, and DuSik is very calm during the ordeal. HyeJin wonders why she ended up at his place if they were out, but she can't remember because she blacked out.

HyeJin reluctantly starts heading to work while MiSeon status returns with an upset stomach. Everyone is running around town talking about the sleepover. They see DuSik stop HyeJin to talk. DuSik and HyeJin decide to go have breakfast which everyone watches through the restaurant window. HyeJin tells DuSik that the people are watching and everyone knows she spent the night. HyeJin then asks if anything happens. DuSik tells her it was wild, like spring break, and she ran out running and just kept running and dancing and yelling his name. HyeJin starts covering her ears out of embarrassment. While she is eating ox blood soup, DuSik goes to wipe her mouth, which makes everyone jump.

The neighbors gather at another location to discuss who they think is the better half. MiSeon joins in on the conversation, and everyone laughs and jokes around.

After leaving the restaurant, DuSik suggests that they go to the cafe so he can make them hangover coffee. HyeJin asks if he likes her. She mentions that he found her shoes and comes to her rescue, and it seems like he is constantly bumping into her. DuSik tells her she is delusional and says he only got the shoes so a sea animal didn't swallow them. She says she was just clearing up as it would've been difficult as they are from different social positions. This makes DuSik upset, and he walks away.

At the dental clinic, HyeJin is questioning if she was too harsh. MiSeon tells her that DuSik went to Seoul National University to study engineering. HyeJin is surprised by this, and she wonders why he left. MiSeon says there are 3 mysteries in Gongjin.

Why did Mr. and Mrs. Rawfish get divorced?

Where was DuSik for 5 years after he graduated college?

HyeJin and MiSeon argue about HyeJin's ex-boyfriend before we discover the 3rd mystery.

Flashback: HyeJin is dressed studiously at a club when she walks to a room and hears her then-boyfriend and his friends badmouthing her appearance, saying she looks poor. The mean boyfriend says he thought she would dress up, but he almost sent her home. HyeJin then turns around to leave before running into a guy who sees her, hears everything, and seems to pity her.

That guy from the club seems to be in Gongjin now…uh oh…love triangle.

DuSik is roaming around the harbor taking pictures of everyone. As he's taking pictures, he saves the club guy from falling into the water as he is taking pictures and not noticing his steps. They talk about their cameras and switch to compare. DuSik says that the club guy's camera is too nice for him to be a hobbyist. He asks him what his job is, and the club guy just responds that he takes pictures and videos. I'm guessing private investigator. The club guy asks where the observatory is, and DuSik shows him. The guy starts taking the wrong turn, and DuSik runs after him to lead him the right way.

As they look at the view from up top, the club guy mentions he has been to Gongjin 4x already that year. He says he was on a destination to somewhere else and got lost but was happy he did. DuSik refers to him as a wander enthusiast.

MiSeon and HyeJin were walking when MiSeok asked if she slept with DuSik. HyeJin said she blacked out and doesn't remember things. MiSeon says a conservative girl like her wouldn't give in to her desires. The girls run into the new neighbor's first love girl. Her name is Chohui, and she's a teacher at the elementary school.

DuSik takes the club guy to the raw fish restaurant to eat. They bond again over the club guy's knowledge of the fish. DuSik assumes he is a mukbang youtuber.

Ms. Yeo is doing calligraphy with her son when she finds out that his new teacher is ChoHui. We see ChoHui learn he is her student when she receives a text from the dad asking about a dinner date the following weekend.

The boys back at the restaurant start arguing about how fish is prepared. The club guy calls a famous chef, but his call is ignored.

The next day Hyejin leaves for work while MiSeon is left in the bathroom again. Today Hyejin has to go to the elementary school to teach a class. MiSeon calls in DuSik as a surprise substitute.

On the way into the school, DuSik teases HyeJin for thinking he likes her. In the end, the kids start asking if HyeJin and DuSik are dating or if they kissed. HyeJin and DuSik stand there awkwardly until the bell rings.

MiSeon heads to the pharmacy to get antidiarrhea medicine when she runs into the cute doctor. She lies and says it's a headache, but the pharmacist double-checks that it's the antidiarrhea meds she wants. While MiSeon is running out, a cute officer follows her to give her advice on how to handle it. He tells her that she shouldn't be embarrassed. She asks him what his ideal girl is, and he says he likes girls from historical dramas. MiSeon goes home to watch a historical drama, which I'm pretty sure is Mr. Queen. She says they aren't going to work as a couple.

DuSik asks Hyejin to pay his fee for working. He says she can take him to lunch if she doesn't have money. HyeJin takes him to a location away from the harbor. She apologizes for the harsh words she said about their social position. She then hands him her phone and asks if he can solve an engineering question to ensure he's not lying. Of course, he gets it right, so she gives him another question. He passes, and she smiles big and gives him another question. Not it's just that she's amazed. She asks why he doesn't apply himself. He tells her she's narrow-minded and that there is more to life than money. He gives her a math question, and she is off to a rough start. Then lunch finally comes. They laugh cutely while Hyejin jokes that she could've solved it.

At the end of their meal, Hyejin tells DuSik he has sauce on his lips. He keeps missing it, so HyeJin wipes it for him. DuSik is surprised and jumps back and complains that he can do it. HyeJin questions what's wrong with him. As they leave the restaurant, it's raining. DuSik returns the umbrella that she left at his place. He tells her she left it that night. He grabs her hand before she can open it, and they run together in the rain onto the beach. DuSik tells her that she should just enjoy it. He then starts splashing her, and she pushes him into the water. Literally the cutest, most playful scene. He asks her if playing in the ran is so bad. She replies that she might be sick tomorrow. DuSik places his hand on his head as if to check her temperature. This causes a flashback from the night she blacked out. That moment when she said it was hot, and he grabbed her face.

HyeJin remembers that after he grabbed her face, she kissed him. Yes! She leaned in and kissed HIM!! While at the beach, she asked him if anything happened. He says that nothing happened that night.

In the next scene, we see DuSik at a doctor's, and the doctor is asking if he is still having that nightmare. He says yes. The nightmare is DuSik lost in a black room, unable to find a door, then a bloody hand touches him.
