Hometown ChaChaCha: Ep 4

Intro:

HyeJin proudly wears her shoes, and DuSik wears many different outfits. They pass each other every morning. HyeJin seems to have a routine down.

One morning while HyeJin is waiting on MiSeon to get ready, HyeJin decides to bond with the hedgehog but is pricked.

While walking to work, HyeJin doesn't pass DuSik and wonders where he is. They later order food for lunch, but it is not delivered by DuSik. MiSeon asks HyeJin why she seems so upset. HyeJin brushes it off.

A new patient comes in and flirts with HyeJin and mentions that some dentists have cameras in their treatment rooms. HyeJin tells him that there are no cameras in the treatment room. The new patient tells HyeJin that he is not worried about the cost of treatment. When MiSeon checks the patient out, she seems to get a weird feeling about him. She said that everything he wore was designer, so he must have a lot of money.

A neighbor invites them to a local business owner meeting on their way home. MiSeon declines, saying they have plans. The neighbor mentions DuSik will be there, and HyeJin agrees to go. MiSeon finds this interesting.

The meeting is at the cafe. Everyone has their own beer pitcher. DuSik shows up late to the meeting and sits next to HyeJin. He tells her that it was his day off. HyeJin runs to the bathroom and has an interesting encounter with Juri. When she comes back from the bathroom, DuSik is gone. She pretends she is drunk by lying down on the table. DuSik then appears on the stage playing the guitar and singing a song. HyeJin peaks through her arms to watch him. After he is done, everyone leaves, and HyeJin still pretends to nap on the table. DuSik tells everyone he got her, throws her on his back, and starts carrying her home.

On the way home, she drops her shoe and freaks out. She jumps off to get her shoes. He tells her she needs to make friends.

The next day HyeJin runs into the cafe to win an argument with Juri, but she is not there. DuSik is there making coffee and offers her a cup. She asks for it to be delivered but cancels after he upcharges her a delivery fee.

Grandma Gamri is at a follow-up visit at the dental office and seems to be doing a lot better. As she is leaving, that strange new patient comes in. MiSeon’s facial expression changes, and Gamri stops to look at him while HyeJin invites him to the treatment room. Gamri says she has seen him before. HyeJin leaves MiSeon in the treatment room with the patient. DuSik comes by with the coffee but leaves off the delivery charge.

HyeJin returns to the cafe and shows Juri the picture of her and Juri’s favorite idol. Juri starts fangirling, and HyeJin and Juri start bonding. DuSik makes comments that they are alike and mocks their fangirling.

The next day neighbors ask DuSik for help, but he tells them he is taking the day off. He spends his time surfboarding.

HyeJin asks MiSeon if she wants fried chicken, but MiSeon says she is a bit tired. The strange patient walks in, and MiSeon is uneasy again. HyeJin leaves the room again, and the strange patient looks at MiSeon oddly. MiSeon makes a mold for the patient’s crown. He tells her it still feels like there is stuff in his mouth and asks her to check again. As she is checking, he starts to grope her. HyeJin comes into the room and yells at him. As she yells at him for being a sexual predator, GamRi overhears and leaves. HyeJin tells MiSeon to call the police, but the strange patient calls first and says he’s being accused of sexual harassment. As the police are on their way, he threatens to shut her place down as his family has ties in the county. MiSeon tells her to let him go and not to make it a big thing. MiSeon says that it has happened before. strang e patient says that MiSeon is smart and says degrading comments like “why would I ever mess with a girl like you? Im out of your league”. This angers HyeJin, so she karate kicks him in the face causing him to bleed. When he tries to attack her back, she slaps him. At the time, DuSik runs in and knees the guy in the face, knocking him out on the floor. The police arrive, and everyone is laid out tired from the quick fight.

In the hospital, strange patient says he wants to sue. The officer, who happens to have a crush on MiSeon, is interrogating strange patient. He tells him that there will be an investigation into sexual harassment. The guy says he will call his lawyer, but he can't find his phone. We see that his phone is under the chair at the dental office.

At the police station, HyeJin and DuSik are in a holding cell. DuSik is resting while HyeJin is yelling to get someone’s attention. HyeJin asked how he knew what was happening at the office. He changes the subject by ignoring her and asking an officer if he can get a new pair of clothes as he is still in his wet suit from surfboarding.

MiSeon comes to check on HyeJin, and they both cry while the officers watch. MiSeon says she didn't want to complain because she knew how hard it was for her to open the clinic, and she didn’t want to ruin it for her.

GamRi then comes in after finding the phone at the dental clinic. DuSik takes the phone and goes to visit strange patient. Apparently, they went to elementary school together. Strange patient says that the assailant shouldn't visit the victim. DuSik tells him that he is the predator. Strange patient denies this by saying there is no proof. DuSik pulls out his phone and says, here's the proof. He then teases him, asking if he is nervous that he has his phone. Strange patient gets out of the hospital bed, and DuSik quickly takes him down. DuSik says his phone is full of images and calls him a peeping Tom. DuSik then starts teasing him by slapping him with the phone. The police later arrest the strange patient from the hospital.

So here’s an update to some side characters’ stories: Mr. and Ms. Yeo (raw fish store owners) are divorced/separated. Ms. Yeo runs the raw fish store, and Mr. Yeo (I believe he is actually Mr. Chang) is a “police officer”? They call him Chief. Their son is the little boy whose tooth was knocked out by his friend. Their son is a very diligent and respectful young boy. So according to the village gossip, nobody knows why they got divorced. They seemed to be a pretty healthy couple. We see moments where there are very kind and thoughtful to each other and have these cute moments. HOWEVER, Mr. Yeo’s first love just moved back to town, and of course…she’s single. He reports to her that he is single as well. Ms. Yeo finds this out after packing Mr. Yeo a huge bag of food and taking it to him at the station, and running into the pair together. She seems a bit upset by this siting.

MiSeon is walking to get her and HyeJin lunch when she runs into the cute officer. He gives her his card and says to call him if anything else ever happens to her. A cute, quirky moment.

DuSik updates MiSeon that the strange patient was arrested. She thinks she should thank him properly, so she heads to his place to give him wine and a basket, and DuSik invites her in to share the bottle.

While in the house HyeJin sees the picture of him and his grandpa and notices that picture is also hanging in a gallery in town. DuSik tells her that his grandpa died when he was in middle school, and his parents died when he was 6 years old.

As they sit down to drink the wine, HyeJin tries drinking it fancily but ends up choking and coughing. DuSik gives her tips on how to do it properly. HyeJin compliments DuSik on his singing ability and asks him to sing for her. He jokingly tells her to go home. They run out of wine, and DuSik offers to get whiskey.

June, from Juri’s favorite idol group at the cafe, is having dinner with his manager. Juri notices him but comments that he must’ve undergone a lot of surgery to look like June. June and the manager laugh but don’t tell her it's him.

DuSik asks HyeJin if she’s drunk, to which she responds no, even though she looks it. HyeJin asks DuSik if he ever gets lonely living alone. DuSik says he has never considered it because the people in town are his family. HyeJin then asks if he has ever left the harbor, and he says once. He then makes a comment that she asks a lot of questions. HyeJin says she's fascinated by him and says that opposites attract. HyeJin gives DuSik permission to ask one question. DuSik asks her why she moved to GongJin. HyeJin tells him that the day she arrived, it was her mom’s birthday. She says her mom would’ve been 60 years old. HyeJin says they went on a family trip to GongJin shortly before her mom passed. HyeJin changes the subject that her face must be burning up because she is drunk. DuSik takes his hand off the ice bucket and holds her face to cool her off.
